Description IN STOCK – This Family Tree Scrapbook Album features 50 copper leaves. Smooth gold deerskin stretches over the hand carved tree, one inch at a time. The leather fits tightly into all the grooves with small tools a half inch at a time. Fifty individual copper leaves were cut into shape and then sanded. Next they were wired onto the leaf surfaces. Multi-color finishes developed on the copper leaves with the use of ketchup, lemon juice, and salt. Handmade green paper embedded with leaf segments lines the inner covers as endsheets. Spine ends are protected by handstitched headbands. That is to say, leather cords wrap with rust and green threads. They stitch directly into the spine edges. Two layers of 55 lb tensile strength fabric reinforce the cover hinges of the Family Tree Scrapbook Album to ensure heirloom strength and quality. This strong fabric hides out of sight both under the leather and under the coversheets. Black 80 pound cover weight acid-free pages fill the book. They are handsewn around the three binding cords seen under the smooth black spine leather. Each page is handripped to create a curved deckled edge. Nine curved and coiled copper wires accent the design. The back cover of the Family Tree Album features three sections of suede brown leather divided by three panels of smooth black leather.
